Simstat Add-ins

There are a number of programs that can be used as add-ins to SIMSTAT. These separate programs can be accessed through the SIMSTAT menus, allowing you to perform additional analyses on your data.

MVSP

MVSP allows you to perform principal components, principal coordinates, and correspondence analysis, as well as hierarchical clustering, on your SIMSTAT data. The analyses are chosen from the SIMSTAT Statistics menu and the results are placed in the Results window, providing seamless integration. MVSP can be used directly from SIMSTAT.

WordStat

WordStat is a content analysis module designed specifically for analysing textual data, such as journal articles, literary works, interviews, etc. The various examples of text can be categorised automatically using a dictionary approach or manually through assignment to classes. Further analysis can then be done using crosstabulation and Keyword in Context (KWIC) as well as sophisticated statistical methods such as clustering and multidimensional scaling. Existing dictionaries or categorization schemes can then be applied to new pieces of text.

Logistic

Logistic is a freeware program by Gerard E. Dallal. It fits a multiple logistic regression model on a binary response variable with one or several explanatory variables. Output includes the likelihood ratio statistic for overall significance, parameter estimates, exponentiated parameter estimates (which are the odds ratios corresponding to a unit change in the independent variables), Wald statistics for assessing the effects of independent variables, and confidence intervals for the regression parameters.

ITALASSI v1.0 - Interaction Viewer

ITALASSI is a freeware program that has been written to facilitate interpretation of regression models (2 independent variables) with an interaction term. The program allows you to enter several regression models (two bivariate, one multiple additive, and one multivariate with interaction) in the form of equations or compute those equations from raw data and displays the various models using 2D and 3D graphs. The program may also be used in advanced stat courses to illustrate statistical interactions or applied multiple regression.

The program runs under Windows 3.1 or later and requires about 550K of disk space (The next version should be less than 350K). This standalone program does not require SIMSTAT.
